Cyrus Lister passes away.
Long time union representative Cyrus Lister loses battle to cancer.
Union representative and Executive Assistant to the President Cyrus Lister lost his battle Wednesday, November 5, to cancer.
Cyrus was set to retire this year after 20 years of service for UFCW Local 832. He started his career servicing members in northern Manitoba, but spent the majority of his time in the Winnipeg region.
"Cyrus could make anyone laugh and would brighten a room under the most stressful situations," stated UFCW Local 832 President Robert Ziegler.
"It didn't matter where you were, if someone found out you were from Local 832, they always asked about Cyrus. He was friends with everyone," stated Ziegler.
Cyrus was dedicated to the members he serviced in Manitoba and those on the National Defence Fund for UFCW Canada.
Cyrus Lister is survived by his wife Pat, his children Aimee, Adam and Eric and their spouses. He is also survived by his grandson, Brendan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 11:30 am at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. All three union offices will be closed.
