ACL Negotiations Continue October 18

September 15, 2017

The union negotiating committee, comprised of lead negotiator Martin Trudel, Sylvia Kepp, and Janice Kowerko, will be meeting with the company on October 18 to continue bargaining.

During this meeting, the union will address the monetary part of the negotiations process, as well as have a clearer picture in terms of the government’s position regarding the status of this sector with regards to the Public Services Sustainability Act (Bill 28), which will also have an impact on our monetary discussions at the bargaining table.


ACL Interlake Negotiations Moving Forward

As the union expects to have an answer from the government in terms of whether or not this sector is included in the much publicized Public Services Sustainability Act (Bill 28), negotiations for ACL Interlake is slated to resume on August 25. On the agenda for the union committee is to address all monetary proposals.  

Following the completion of the above noted round of bargaining, union negotiator Martin Trudel will inform the members at ACL of future bargaining dates, if needed, as well as provided with an update on the state of the negotiations process.


‎Bargaining Set to Begin at ACL Interlake

May 26, 2017

The union negotiating committee, head negotiator Martin Trudel, Sylvia Kepp and Janice Kowerko, will meet with the company to start bargaining on June 16. Further meetings are scheduled for June 27 and 28.

During the first round of bargaining, the union will present its proposals regarding improvements to contract language, benefits and wage increases in the collective agreement for the members working at ACL Interlake.

Negotiator Trudel will provide an update to the members as to the state of their negotiations following the June 27 bargaining date.


Tentative agreement reached for ACL Interlake members

September 24, 2012
On September 17, the union negotiating committee met with met with company officials for ACL Interlake and were able to resolve all outstanding issues between the parties. The union now have a tentative agreement that the committee is recommending.

Negotiations set to begin at ACL Interlake

The collective agreement at ACL Interlake expired on May 2, 2012 UFCW Local 832 negotiator, Michelle Masserey has been trying to confirm dates to bargain since early April. She was finally able to schedule July 31, August 14, 16, and 30 with the employer for negotiations.

Negotiations continue at ACL Interlake

Some items agreed too. On May 25, 2010, your negotiating committee, Sherry Haney, Bernice Henry and myself met once again with the employer at the offices of Conciliation and Mediation services in Winnipeg. We reached agreement on several additional items. However, there are still some major items outstanding including wages and benefits. Regarding the benefits package, the parties agree to have two insurance brokers take the current insurance package to market to see if a cost savings can be found with other carriers.

Negotiations continue at ACL Interlake

More dates set for May and June Negotiations with the employer were held at the offices of Conciliation and Mediation services in Winnipeg on April 29 and May 6. Your negotiating committee members, Bernice Henry and Sherry Haney and UFCW Local 832 negotiator Michelle Masserey presented the union’s proposals to the employer and they had some proposals of their own. Significant progress was made on the first two days.

ACL Interlake negotiations update

Bargaining starts April 29. Negotiations with your employer are scheduled to commence on Thursday, April 29, 2010.  We have had to request the assistance of a conciliation officer from the Department of Labour in order to get the employer to confirm meeting dates with us.  Ms. Shannon Pilon has been appointed to assist the parties and the first meeting will take place at her offices in Winnipeg. Your negotiating committee members, Bernice Henry and Sherry Haney, will be joining me at the negotiations table.

Second Proposal meeting set for all ACL La Residence de St.Malo

Thank you to those of you who attended the proposal meeting in January. Negotiations have been scheduled with the employer for March 10 and 17. Membership meeting for members at ACL Interlake

Recently your Employer approached the Joint Labour/Management Committee with a proposed new classification for inclusion in the bargaining unit. The work assignments in the workplace are being changed such that out-of-scope supervisors will be replaced with Team Leaders in each residence. This will mean a change in some work duties as well as responsibilities.
