This workshop is ideal for NEW committee members to begin the Circle of Safety. We will review legislation, the three rights, the roles of committees and how to function effectively. Credit*

3. Effective Committees
This workshop is a “must attend” for committee members who find themselves busy reacting. We will look at ways we can participate more effectively and how the changes to the Act make participation a duty.

4. Strategic Approach to Dealing with Management
This workshop will concentrate on using the 9 steps of Engineering Controls and developing skills in using clear language with members and management about
hazards in our workplace.

5. Workers Compensation Basics
This workshop will present the guide to working with the Workers Compensation Board that has proven successful throughout Manitoba. It will be a must for committee members who need to assist their co-workers with injury reporting and understanding the WCB system. *Credit

6. Pandemic 101
What is a Pandemic? How does it spread? Is there anything we can do to prevent it?
What would we do if it happened, are we prepared? What would it mean to us as
union members?

7. Cultural Comfort**
Recognizing the problems that newcomers face is important in today’s diverse workplace. Explore the differences and similarities in cultures and determine activities to make sure everyone is included.

receive credit towards the Health & Safety Diploma.
