Sobeys West Inc. has announced their Hero Pay Package today to acknowledge the vital role that our members are playing in this pandemic.
Sobeys financial package includes the following premiums for our members (including the Retail Support Centre):
- $50 / week premium on top of hours worked
- Additional $2 / hour for members who work more than 20 hours per week.
The pay will be retroactive to March 8 and will continue until the end of April.
“We are glad to see Sobeys also doing their part to ensure the recognition that the members deserve,” said Jeff Traeger, President of UFCW Local 832.
UFCW 832 is calling on Red River Co-op and all other Co-ops in Manitoba who employ our members to do the same.
UFCW Local 832 represents over 18,000 members working hard in food production, food distribution warehousing, grocery stores, security, personal care, and assisted living.
