Conciliation Officer Appointed to Assist with Coke Bargaining

February 12, 2018

After several dates of bargaining, the union and the company are still far apart at the table on some the more significant monetary items regarding the collective agreement for the union members at Coke Winnipeg.

Therefore, negotiations will continue with the assistance of a government-appointed conciliation officer. The mandate of a conciliation officer is to help in reaching terms of a contract that is deemed to be fair and reasonable for both parties.

Following the conciliation date, union negotiator Martin Trudel will update the members of Coke Winnipeg as to the state of their negotiations.
