Conciliator Officer Assisting with North of 53 Negotiations

June 5, 2017

After a few dates of negotiations, talks hit a roadblock and the union applied to the Manitoba Labour Board for assistance. Unfortunately, the Co-op proposed several concessions that could take away or reduce some of the benefits that the members at North of 53 Co-op currently have. The union bargaining committee has no intention of agreeing to these concessions.

With the help of the government appointed conciliator, negotiations will continue on June 13 and 14. Union negotiator Sonia Taylor will provide a further update after the June 14 meeting.
