Negotiations update for Visions of Independence

December 15, 2009
Conciliation is working. The union negotiating committee recently had thier  first meeting with the conciliation officer regarding the monetary issues outstanding at Visions of Independence.  Although we had some interesting discussions the employer seems focused on this point on the wage rates rather than any other monetary items.  There are still issues related to stat holidays, length of the contract, benefits, premiums and mileage to work through in addition to wages. NEXT MEETING Although the discussions helped to clarify issues, the parties have now gone back to their own caucuses to discuss the issues amongst themselves.  The union negotiating committee will be meeting next with the conciliation officer and your employer on January 11, 2010 and we expect we will receive a more thorough offer from the employer at that time.  As we continue to proceed in this process, we will, of course, keep you apprised of how we are doing so you will be able to understand the next steps of the process. If you have any questions please contact union negotiator, Susan Hart-Kulbaba at 786-5055.
