Negotiations stall at CNIB

Meeting set to review all outstanding issues.

Continued discussions with CNIB management on the outstanding issues in negotiations have stalled.  As you may recall, CNIB has changed the benefit plan for non union employees.  These changes affect the paid sick leave benefits.  Your collective agreement currently provides for up to 15 weeks of benefit coverage at 100% of earnings.  The employer is intending to change this to a maximum of 10 days with up to an additional 10 days based on length of service.

Your committee believes it is time to review all outstanding issues between the parties with the members as well as the employer’s last offer.  We will be asking you to vote on the offer and if the offer is rejected, we will be asking you to take a strike vote.

The meeting will be held as follows:

Date: Tuesday, February 23, 2010
Time:  4:45 pm
Location:  Union Office (1412 Portage Ave)
Please plan to attend this very important meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact union negotiator, Beatrice Bruske at 786-5055.
