For over 12 years Ron Allard was a member of UFCW Local 832 at SYSCO Food Services in Winnipeg. Ron has been very active with the union serving for six years as a shop steward, four of those years as Chief Shop Steward.

Ron was also sat on the negotiation committee during the 2002 negotiations with Sysco. In 2005 he assisted with the picket line at Gourmet Baker. Ron has been a relief rep and served as a Special Projects Union Representative (SPUR) working on organizing campaigns for the local.

In 2006 Ron was hired at the local full-time as Assistant Union Representative for the retail sector assisting the representatives looking after Safeway and Westfair. In the summer of 2006 Ron was hired as a full-time union representative.
