Jerry Kies joined the staff of UFCW Local 832 in the fall of 2006. Before taking on the position of Director, Jerry was Interim Director since January of 2006. From October of 2004 to January 2006, Jerry worked as a Special Programs Union Representative, in organizing.

Before working with the Union Jerry worked for The Real Canadian Superstore in the produce department for 25 years. He was a Union Shop Steward, Health & Safety committee member and Vice-President of the Local’s Executive Board.

He also served on the union negotiating team and Joint Labour & Management committee. As well he was a Relief Union Representative during the summer of 2005.

In 2009 Jerry moved into servicing for the local.
