Northern Union Rep Blair Hudson was born and raised in northern Manitoba. At various times, his home was in Thompson, Flin Flon and Lynn Lake. While working for the Unemployment Insurance Commission, he served as President of a Thompson Local of the Public Service Alliance of Canada from 1982 to 1992. For part of that time, he was also President of the Thompson and District Labour Co-ordinating Committee.

Blair became full-time northern union rep with UFCW Local 832 on December 1, 1992. He spends a lot of time traveling throughout the north meeting and helping members. Local 832 has members throughout the north involved in a wide variety of workplaces including health care facilities and retail stores.

Blair is the first born and raised northerner to work as a Local 832 Rep. He has no desire to move away from the north.
