Debra recently joined the staff at UFCW as legal counsel in May 2006. Prior to that she articled for Myers Weinberg LLP in the labour law department.

Debra received her Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in 2001, then went on to pursue a law degree. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2005.

Debra comes from a strong labour background. She worked for the City of Winnipeg Golf Services for eight years as a CUPE member and has always kept up with the labour movement. She is also actively involved with the legal community. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers and the Canadian Bar Association.

Garry joined UFCW Local 832 in September 2006 after having practiced labour and employment law for the last 9 years in the City of Greater Sudbury as well as throughout Northern Ontario. Garry received his law degree from the University of New Brunswick and holds a Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations Diploma from Confederation College in Thunder Bay.

In Sudbury, Garry specialized in traditional labour areas such as mediations, negotiations, grievance resolutions and arbitrations. He also appeared on a regular basis before various labour tribunals such as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal.  As well Garry is  bilingual. He is looking forward to making a difference for our members.
