Local 832 Staff

Union Representatives – The people who visit members in their workplaces, resolve workplace problems and, when necessary, file grievances.

Organizing Director – Workers who would like to have the advantages of union representation in their workplace should get to know Sonia Taylor.

Full-time Negotiators – Local 832 has three full-time staff members who concentrate all their efforts on obtaining the best possible collective agreements for members.

Workers Compensation Advocate – Rob Hilliard works full-time as Local 832′s Workers Compensation Advocate to assist members whenever they run into problems collecting benefits or encounter other issues involving the Workers Compensation Board.

Health and Safety- Guy Sylvestre works full-time as Local 832′s Health and Safety Resources representative. Guy assists union representatives,  Health and Safety committee members in the workplace.

Legal Counsel – Debra Malmquist and Garry Bergeron are Local 832′s full-time lawyers. Having legal counsel on staff helps ensure that arbitrations, unfair labour practices and other issues affecting members are dealt with as quickly as possible.

Communications Director – Blake Crothers works with communications assistant Dalia Chapa to produce the Local 832 magazine, newsletters, special bulletins, collective agreements booklets and more to keep the membership informed.
